ABOUT FUKU-FUKU PROJECT
We gather your clothes! FUKU-FUKU the project?

One Million Tons of Textile Products Disposed of As Waste

Approximately one million tons of used textile products are disposed of as waste every year in Japan, roughly 70% of which simply goes to incinerators or landfill sites. Recycling of used textile products has not yet been widely implemented in this country.

Connecting Consumers and Companies – Maximizing Recycling Efforts

To connect consumers and companies wishing to recycle waste and to promote recycling—this is the mission of the FUKU-FUKU Project. To make it easier for consumers to participate in recycling, we have built a recycling network that involves various collaborating companies.
Companies participating in the project collect used clothes brought in to stores and other places by consumers and these used clothes are recycled to make bioethanol, coke, hydrocarbon oil, and other products.
